How to apply for ANSO fully funded Scholarship 2025

ANSO FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP 2025

Introduction:

The Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO) is a global, non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2018. Its founding members include the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and 36 other prestigious scientific institutions, universities, and international organizations from around the world. ANSO's mission is to enhance scientific and technological capacity both regionally and globally, improve human livelihoods, and promote greater cooperation and communication in the fields of science and technology (S&T).

The CAS-ANSO Scholarship, formerly known as the ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents, was officially launched in 2019 with the goal of nurturing and training young scientists from across the globe. The scholarship program offers two categories: a degree program and a non-degree program. Each year, the degree program provides support to 100 to 200 Master’s students and 300 Ph.D. students, enabling them to pursue advanced studies at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and various CAS institutes throughout China.

In 2022, a specialized sub-category of the CAS-ANSO Scholarship, called the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship, was introduced. This program, which aligns with the priorities of TWAS/UNESCO, places particular (though not exclusive) emphasis on applicants from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and women. Each year, up to 40 Ph.D. candidates from developing nations are selected for this scholarship by TWAS/UNESCO.

As the principal founding member, CAS is the primary sponsor of the CAS-ANSO Scholarship. TWAS and UNESCO, both founding members of ANSO, contribute to funding the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship. ANSO invites all interested parties to collaborate in further diversifying and expanding the scholarship program.
