The Fully Funded DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2025-26 is currently accepting applications. Offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the EPOS scholarship supports Master’s, MPhil, MBA, LLM, and Ph.D. degree programs at German state-recognized universities, with exceptions for doctoral degrees in certain cases. It stands as one of Germany's largest and most sought-after scholarships for international students, drawing a high volume of annual applications.



The duration of the scholarship varies from 1 to 3.5 years, depending on the specific study program. Germany has experienced a significant rise in international student enrollment, with approximately 458,210 students currently enrolled. The next intake for the EPOS scholarship will commence in 2026, with DAAD covering all associated expenses. Upon completing their studies in Germany, recipients can apply for a Germany Job Seeker Visa or Germany Opportunity Card, facilitating employment search opportunities.

Financial Benefits:                                                                           


- Monthly payments: 934 euros for graduates or 1,300 euros for doctoral candidates, depending on the academic level

- Coverage for health, accident, and personal liability insurance

- Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding

Additional Benefits (under certain circumstances):

- Monthly rent subsidy

- Monthly allowance for accompanying family members


Prerequisites and Requirements                                                      


The ideal scholarship candidate:

- Holds a Bachelor’s degree (or a Master’s degree if applying for a PhD program) in a related subject.

- Has completed their academic degree(s) with excellent results (upper third) and can demonstrate at least two years of relevant professional experience after obtaining their first degree (Bachelor’s).

- Has academic degrees that are at most six years old.

- Is a national of a country listed on the OECD-DAC list, except Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia (including Kosovo), and Turkey.

- Has at least two years of relevant work experience after the Bachelor's degree 

-The minimum requirement for IELTS is (6 bands). You can also check with the institute you’re applying to see if they require English proficiency proof


Documents required :                                                                        


- Completed and signed checklist

- DAAD application: "Application for a research/study scholarship" (please type your answers or ensure they are easy to read)

- Curriculum Vitae: In reverse chronological order without any unexplained gaps (please use the Europass template, including exact information about your studies and practical experience)

- Letter of Motivation: With detailed reference to academic, professional, and personal reasons for applying for the program

  - IMPORTANT: When applying for more than one postgraduate course (maximum 3 courses), provide detailed reasons for your choice of courses and prioritization in the letter of motivation. Submit a uniform letter of motivation to all postgraduate degree programs of your choice

- Letter of Recommendation: From your current employer; the letter must include official letterhead, signature, and official stamp, and must be of current date (not in a sealed envelope)

- Certificate(s) of Employment: From the employer(s) showing at least two years of relevant work experience after the Bachelor's degree up to the time of application, and if possible, a guarantee of re-employment from your current employer upon returning home. The certificate of employment from the current employer should, if possible, include a guarantee of re-employment after returning to the home country

- Recent Proof of Language Skills:

  - English: IELTS or TOEFL (Note: The institutional TOEFL is not accepted)

  - German: Required for courses taught in German

- Higher Education Degree Certificates: Please provide a certified translation if the original is not in German or English, and ensure these are clearly legible

- Full Set of Transcript of Records: Please provide an explanation of the grading system if this is not part of the transcript
